Urban Foresight today published a digital workshop on change management as part of a Carbon Strategy and Policy Development programme for Zero Waste Scotland.

Focused on ‘How to embed Carbon Management in your organisation’, the seminar is the final of four workshops delivered by Urban Foresight over the last 6 months to support public sector organisations in developing successful carbon management strategies.

The workshop is presented by Urban Foresight’s Jackie Smith, who draws on her expertise of implementing change management programmes across the public and private sector. The seminar offers insights on the processes involved in change management, how change impacts upon individuals and demonstrates how change management can improve practitioners’ Carbon Management Plans.

Jackie commented that: “This workshop recognises the importance of ensuring change is fully embedded in an organisation and provides delegates with the knowledge and tools required to develop a change management plan, increase commitment to a Carbon Plan through the use of a range of interventions and addresses how to successfully embed a Carbon Management Plan within an organisation”.

The workshop was also released to coincide with the setup of a Carbon Management Support Community designed to share best practice, lessons learned and new project ideas and materials so practitioners can develop their organisations to be low carbon leaders. A key focus of the project, this group will help the formation of a living collaborative network that has the necessary skills, material and relationships to encourage an enduring legacy, long after the support programme ceases.

This workshop concludes Urban Foresight’s tailored programme of support for Zero Waste Scotland which has provided practical and technical advice on key elements of carbon management including data collation, data analysis, developing a project portfolio and identifying and setting realistic and measurable targets.
