EV charging innovation event for Scottish local authorities
Charge Up event inspires knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Urban Foresight hosted a knowledge sharing event focused on innovation for on street EV charging.
The Charge Up event in Dundee brought together representatives from Scottish local authority transport departments, businesses, and industry specialists.
As experts in EV infrastructure planning and delivery, our consultants Callum White and Ben Hawley led an interactive workshop. Delegates shared their experiences and discussed approaches to procurement and implementation, and technical and operational challenges.
Urban Foresight has been the driving force in bringing on-street EV pop-up chargers to the communities of Dundee. After securing £3 million of innovation funding, we led the Clean Streets project which included extensive development and trials of pop-up chargers across both Dundee and Plymouth.
The innovation event coincided with the launch of the product developed from those trials, the UEOne charger. Charge point operator Urban Fox has since installed 18 of the new on-street chargers across nine locations on behalf of Dundee City Council.
Delegates were given a demonstration of the cutting-edge technology and heard insights on how to achieve successful deployment.
Callum White commented, “Charge Up was a fantastic opportunity to network, learn and share knowledge. We’re passionate about helping organisations work towards their net zero transport targets. We know how important it is to local communities to have access to EV charging solutions and our work in Dundee demonstrates that.”
