The Future of Mobility

The forum was chaired by TV presenter and motoring journalist, Quentin Willson and focused on exploring the technological innovations that will shape mobility in the future.

The day saw insights from a range of speakers including Zak Tuck of Transport Scotland who used recent research to highlight developments and future policy for low emission vehicles with Andrew Benfield from the Energy Saving Trust discussing the business cases for integrating electric vehicles in organisational fleets.

David Hart of E4Tech explained how fuel cell vehicle technology is evolving and how it might play a role in our future transport system, whilst Lynne Goulding from Arup spoke about shaping urban mobility to be human-centric, integrated and technology-enabled.

The afternoon session commenced with Quentin Willson describing how he sees the future of e-mobility developing in the UK over the coming years. Rebeca Advani from Transport Systems CATAPULT highlighted the LUTZ Pathfinder project in Milton Keynes, which is looking at the opportunities and challenges of using automated vehicles to move passengers or goods between other modes of transport.

Graeme Scott from IBI concluded the day by describing the evolving trends defining the shape of our future cities and the benefits of “Mobility as a Service.”
