Anna is an expert in managing large scale projects, from bid writing stage, developing a long-term strategy to delivery of the project and ongoing management. Most recently she was manager of UNESCO City of Design, Dundee, a designation with local and global reach where she worked with partners to further the understanding of design, travelling extensively. She also founded festivals in Dundee, ran large projects for the University of Dundee and worked as a core member of a small team, working on the Dundee City of Culture bid in 2013 and the European Capital of Culture bid for 2023.
Her real talent lies in seeing the bigger picture, in partnership working and in development of relationships to foster new collaborations. Communication – both written and spoken – is a specialist area for Anna, who was a journalist on national newspapers including The Mirror, The Sunday Mirror, The Sunday Times and Scotland on Sunday.
She runs literary events in her spare time, as well as a small publishing company. She is a regular chair at the Edinburgh International Book Festival and many other events.
