Run by Urban Foresight, E-cosse is a multi-stakeholder partnership across the public and private sectors to advance electric vehicle adoption in Scotland as part of a sustainable transport system and a smart energy grid.

The partnership was jointly initiated by Transport Scotland, WWF Scotland and Urban Foresight to support the achievement of government’s commitments on plug-in vehicles while ensuring that there is an ambitious plan to contribute to Scotland’s climate change targets.

In addition to the day-to-day running of the partnership and management of the extensive network of stakeholders, Urban Foresight originated the original concept for the initiative and designed the delivery structures. This drew on our in-depth understaning of the future requirements for advancing electric vehicle adoption, as well our understanding of emerging best practice around the world.

A key success of E-cosse has been to engage with a network of stakeholders representing over 80 different organisations from across Scotland and beyond.

E-cosse is a striking example of Urban Foresight’s commitment to facilitating collabroation between the public and private sector to combine exptertise, align resources and create shared commitments to accelerate the adoption of technologies that offer great benefit to the environment and wider society
