Guiding developments in Mobility as a Service at the regional level

Urban Foresight was commissioned to produce a MaaS Playbook for  Tactran, the regional transport partnership for Central Scotland

The MaaS Playbook establishes the context for successful deployment of new MaaS solutions in the region, which covers Angus, Dundee, Perth & Kinross and Stirling.

It identifies potential projects (or “plays”) to prioritise investments and to help the region to capitalise on the opportunities offered by MaaS.

Developing the Playbook required engagement with a diverse range of organisations over a short space of time. This was possible due to Urban Foresights many partnerships in the region and global MaaS networks.

One of Urban Foresight’s core skills is the ability to synthesize complex information and often competing opinions, into easy-to-understand concepts and projects.

The Playbook establishes “Ten Guiding Principles for MaaS Solutions” and a series of projects that are rooted in the priorities of local stakeholders.

In December 2019, the Playbook helped Tactran to secure £550,000 from Transport Scotland’s MaaS Investment Fund for a three pilot projects in the region.
