Richard leads Urban Foresight’s Net Zero portfolio. He brings a practical blend of strategic insight and operational expertise gathered during his career in senior leadership roles from across the public, private and charity sectors.  

Previous roles of Richard’s include Managing Director of one of Scotland’s leading housing associations and Director of Strategy at the UK’s largest social enterprise. 

In his role as Head of Net Zero at Urban Foresight he delivers a broad portfolio of projects designed to help organisations articulate their strategic intent and deliver net zero programmes.     

As an experienced place maker, Richard has led on innovative solutions which address all of the technical and non-technical barriers to net zero delivery at a variety of scales. He is particularly interested in accelerating our transition to net zero through system interventions that can be replicated across the UK and beyond. 

In addition to his focus on Net Zero, Richard is the Chair of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, supporting this vital sector in its contribution to society.
