Stuart is an experienced economic development and regeneration professional. He leads Urban Foresight’s broad portfolio of work within economic development which places equality, inclusion and sustainability at the heart of economic progress.

His career of almost 20 years in this space includes several years as the Head of Economic Development and Communities with a Scottish local authority.

Stuart has written and delivered strategies across most areas of economic development and counts rural economic development, inward investment, sector development, culture & tourism, city & town centre development and community development as particular areas of expertise.

An experienced Project Director, Stuart has led a wide range of capital projects to support positive economic outcomes, from digital innovation hubs and community learning spaces to public realm and heritage projects.

Looking ahead, Stuart is particularly interested in the role new and emerging technologies can play in supporting place development initiatives.
